In practice, image-processing accuracy is almost never the only point at issue. Only once capture timing, signal exchange with the equipment, display that keeps up, and traceability of the stored data are all covered does it become software you can use on the floor.

How we proceed

Organizing capture conditions and judgment criteria We confirm the target, the lighting, the resolution, the takt time, the criteria for pass and fail, and what level of missed detections and false detections you can accept.

Deciding the configuration We decide the camera and SDK, where the processing runs, how signals are exchanged with the equipment, and where data is stored. If equipment is already in place, we identify its constraints first.

Implementation and verification on the real thing We implement while checking against the actual workpieces and camera. We check processing time, missed captures, and behavior under long-running operation as well.

Putting it into operation We organize the logs, the stored data, and the procedure for isolating problems when something goes wrong, and hand it over in a form where causes can be traced later.

Is your track record in machine vision a corporate one?

No. The experience in machine vision system development is the founder's personal work history at a previous employer, as an image processing engineer. We present it separately from the corporate track record of KomuraSoft LLC. As a company, we handle development of device-integration applications that include industrial cameras, and investigation of communication faults and failures that appear during long-running operation.

Can we ask you to develop only the image processing algorithm?

You are welcome to talk to us. What we are good at, however, is not the algorithm on its own, but making the whole thing hold together as a Windows application that runs on the floor, including the camera SDK, display, operator UI, device integration, and data storage. If research and development of the algorithm itself is the main goal, we may point you to a partner better suited to that.

Can we talk to you before we have decided on the camera or the SDK?

Yes. We first organize the target to be imaged, the resolution required, the takt time, the connection method, and the installation environment, and then work through the configuration, including which camera and SDK to use and where the processing should run.

We are an overseas manufacturer. Can we ask you for software support aimed at the Japanese market?

Yes. We act as your software engineering partner on the Japanese side, covering development of customer-specific applications on top of your SDK, Japanese-language UI support, integration into existing equipment, and technical inquiries and issue isolation. We also work in English.

Can you handle just the modification of existing image-inspection software?

Yes. We handle modifications that keep the existing software in place, such as bug investigation, feature additions, keeping up with camera SDK updates, and migration to Windows 11. If neither the specification documents nor the people who worked on it are still around, we start by reconstructing the specification from the actual behavior.
